HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?

Please call (510) 417-5557 to book a spot on the boat. All reservations are taken over the phone. We do not have an online booking system. A credit card is required to secure your spot, however payment will be handled on the boat the morning of your trip. We accept cash or credit cards. A 48 hour cancellation notice is required on all open party trips. For parties of 6 or more, a one week notice is required for cancellation.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

You'll want to have cash on hand for fish cleaning, galley tabs and gratuities. Gratuities are customary and much appreciated. They are not included in the price of your trip. Our crew works long hard hours to make sure you have the best experience possible.

HOW DO I BOOK A CHARTER?

Here is a guideline with several basic steps to make booking a charter easy!

1. Select the date.

2. Contact us at (510) 417-5557 to see if that date is available.

3. If your date is available, we will pencil you in and discuss if you have any special needs for your charter.

4. A deposit is required upon booking a charter.

5. Confirm your dates and times.

WHAT COULD I CATCH?

BAY: Halibut, Striped Bass, White Sea Bass, Sharks and Salmon.
ISLANDS: Ling Cod and Rockfish.
OFFSHORE: Salmon, Ling Cod and Rockfish.
COASTAL: All species.

Remember that it's called "fishing" and not "catching". Have realistic expectations of what you'll go home with. Catching fish depends on a number of things: type of trip booked, conditions (water temp, currents), bait, tackle, the fish themselves and a lot of times luck. Leave those expectations on the dock and you're much less likely to be disappointed. Fish responsibly and most importantly, have fun!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect to have a great time! The Cal Dawn crew is one of the best in the fleet. Our trips depart the landing at 6am and return around 4pm. You must arrive and board the ship by 5:30am or you will not be able to keep your spot. We fish all day until it's time to head home. The crew will filet and bag all of your fish for you for a small fee per fish. 30 minutes or so before we hit the dock, we collect fish cleaning and galley tabs and ask that you pack all your stuff up. Once we hit the dock, you can take your bags and gear to your cars and grab an ice chest if you brought one. This is where we say goodbye, thanks and see you again very soon!
